Hi everyone,

My name is Ian, and I’m the person behind Helm Planet. This is a one-man project, but it’s one I’m truly passionate about.

I have over 20 years of experience as a software developer, and by day I work as a Lead R&D AI Engineer for a multinational maritime company, building advanced tools to help manage fleets and keep vessels running safely and efficiently. By night (and weekends!), I’m pouring that same expertise into creating tools for our sailing community — tools that help us stay organized, connected, and get more enjoyment out of our boats.

My goals with Helm Planet are simple but ambitious:

This is just the beginning — I’m working hard every day to make Helm Planet better and more useful. The dream is for this to become a platform that truly serves the sailing community worldwide. 🌍✨
